This book is offered as a practical resource to help psychologists learn and apply the APA Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct. In three concise sessions, Ethics for Psychologists informs psychologists of salient considerations in ethical decision making. The first section acquaints the reader with the overall process of ethical decision making and describes the history of the APA Ethics Code.

The second part examines the 1992 revision of the Ethics Code in depth, including standards that are applicable to all psychologists and standards that may be more or less applicable to an individual psychologist depending on his or her professional role. The discussions in this section are conveniently organized in the same sequence as the standards from the APA Ethics Code. Each commentary provides additional descriptive material to address the questions that are likely to be raised by psychologists with regard to a given standard.

The last section puts the ethical principles in context by describing how psychology is regulated by professional organizations as well as local, state, and federal law.
